WORDS FROM THE DIRECTOR

The Salem Art Works internship program emphasizes a strong collaborative spirit. All interns work collectively tackling various responsibilities and tasks. Every intern is inherent to this process exploring different ways of problem solving by using their voice and by being fully present. Every intern is given studio space and the time to create their own artwork. This is a vital element of the internship program at S.A.W. This upcoming season, interns will assist in the operation of most workshops offered. This component exposes each intern to different processes and methods of art making while observing different approaches to teaching. It is my hope that every artist participating in the internship program at Salem Art Works thoroughly benefits from their experience.
