Forging Dragon Heads w/ Luke Claymon
Forging Dragon Heads w/ Luke Claymon
In this class, students will have the opportunity to combine the art of sculpting and blacksmithing to create a dragon head.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll benefit from learning the techniques and skills needed to forge a detailed piece. From heating your steel bar to working over an anvil and literally hammering out the details while your dragon is in a vice, this class will provide a hands-on experience that will leave you with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
The heads will use half of the 1” x 1” x 6" bar and the remainder may be drawn out to form a serpentine body or a handy tool. Since dragons come in all shapes and sizes, there’s no need to adhere to nature’s rules- get wild and wacky! Join us and unleash your creativity…
Students must wear closed-toed shoes, have hair tied, a hat or bandana (recommended), and long pants. Wear natural-fibered clothing- synthetic fabrics can melt and catch fire when exposed to heat.
