SAW is pleased to announce the opening of Season IV and the receipt of their nonprofit status with a celebration taking place on Sunday, June 8th from Noon until 9pm on its 119-acre site. All aspects of SAW's arts facility will be actively demonstrated at the event: glassblowing, iron pouring, film screening and live music. The event is free and open to the public.

During the day, GLO hot glass shop will be open with students showing their skills acquired from the Make a Paperweight! workshop and Cast Iron Workshop: Session I will culminate with an all-day iron pour where participants will pour molds using molten iron from SAW's newly fabricated iron furnace, or, cupolette. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.
After dusk, local rock outfit Sauce will play in Barn II and short films from Chicago's International Children's Film Festival will be shown outdoors. Visitors should bring their own blankets and chairs, and light movie-style refreshments will be available for purchase.
